Javier Perianes tours the US with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra
7th January 2019

Javier Perianes joins the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra for a tour of the United States this month, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27.

The tour begins at Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts on 5 January, then visits Palm Beach (6 January), Charlotte (7 January) and Greenville (10 January), and culminates at New York’s Carnegie Hall on 12 January.

“By the time he performed his final piano concerto, Mozart had reached new heights of elegance and sophistication from his adopted home in Vienna. Javier Perianes, bringing ‘his silvery tone, which has the consistency of aural mercury’ (Los Angeles Times), adds his name to the illustrious list of guest pianists who have championed Mozart with Orpheus.”

Other forthcoming North American highlights this season include a return to Los Angeles for Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’ Concerto with Los Angeles Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel, as well as concerts with Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Matthias Pintscher performing Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 5, ‘Egyptian’.
