Mira Alkhovik

Mira Alkhovik was born in Saint Petersburg and played the violin for 12 years before beginning her vocal performance studies at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg. In July 2021, she made her debut as Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the OpernFest in Kandersteg, Switzerland (Berlin Opera Academy). In the 22/23 season, she performs as Amor in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, Anna in Verdi's Nabucco, and Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Biel Solothurn Opera Theater (Biel, Switzerland).

During this season, she made her debut as Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème at the Teatro Solís in Montevideo.

Parallel to her operatic career, Mira is a distinguished chamber music performer, resulting in her debut Lied album, Falling for Love.

Mira Alkhovik has won numerous awards in prominent vocal competitions.

She won second prizes at the Tenor Viñas Competition 2024 (Spain) and the International LiedDuo Competition for Students in Groningen (Netherlands), as well as the Grand Prize at the 8th International George Enescu Competition in 2021 (Paris). Additionally, she has been awarded at the Ningbo International Vocal Competition (China), the Jeunes Espoirs Opera Competition in Avignon (France), and the Haydn International Competition (Austria).

In 2022, she won the fourth prize at the International Haydn Competition and received the Grand Prize.

Mira will be part of the young ensemble of the Volksoper Wien in the 24/25 and 25/26 seasons.
