The Asian Modern Symphony Orchestra will begin its journey with two concerts on July 31 and August 1, led by Wilson Ng in Hong Kong.
This project features musicians who have performed with ensembles such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Orchestre Philharmonique de Québec, Orchestre de Paris, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony, and the London Philharmonic, as well as with major Asian orchestras, such as the Seoul, Hong Kong, Thailand, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and Daejeon Philharmonics, and the New Japan Philharmonic.
Its philosophy is to present a broad western repertoire combined with contemporary music and premiers by Asian composers to showcase the talent and master pieces of the region. In their presentation, they will perform Stravinski's Firebird and Chaikovski's Piano Concerto No. 2 with Bruce Liu as soloist, alongside works by Xiaogang Ye, Unsuk Chin, Toshio Hosokawa or Donghoon Shin, among others.
A promising project that advocates for dialogue, diversity and innovation in the world of classical music.
