The Cosmos Quartet joins Ibermúsica Artists for General Management
19th September 2025

Since its foundation in Barcelona in 2014 by Helena Satué and Bernat Prat (violins), Lara Fernández (viola) and Oriol Prat (violoncello), the Cosmos Quartet has become one of the most interesting and sought after string quartets of its generation. Their critically acclaimed performances, with repertoire spanning from the 18th century to the present day, have been described as honest, elegant, expressive and captivating.

The Cosmos Quartet performs at the most important concert halls and festivals such as the Barcelona Quartets Biennial organized by L’Auditori Barcelona, Liceo de Cámara at Auditorio Nacional in Madrid presented by the CNDM, Wigmore Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Granada International Festival, Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Philarmonie in París, Schubertiada de Vilabertran, Sociedad Filarmónica de Bilbao, Festival de Perelada and Círculo de Cámara at Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid among others.

From 2021-2024, the Cosmos Quartet was resident ensemble at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, performing eight recitals dedicated to the quartets of Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and Anton Webern.

Their interest and commitment with contemporary music has led Cosmos to premiere works by Jörg Widmann, Raquel García-Tomás, Joan Magrané, Octavi Rumbau, Mauricio Sotelo, Benet Casablancas, Bernat Vivancos, Manuel Rodríguez Valenzuela, Montserrat Lladó, Sky Macklay and Yair Klartag among others. This music is now an integral part of their repertoire, and they have performed it in the Sampler Sèries at L’Auditori, the Series 20/21 in Madrid (CNDM) and Out-Side in Barcelona.

Its discography includes the Influences trilogy (2019-2024), dedicated to Brahms in dialogue with both classics and contemporaries, as well as the album Solitude (2024) with soprano Katharina Konradi

In September 2025 the quartet has been reinvited to the Royal Palace of Madrid to play the famous Stradivari instruments of the Royal Collection.
