Jaime Martín joins Ibermúsica Artists for General Management

Jaime Martín has established a distinguished international career, working with leading orchestras across Europe, Asia and the United States. He has been Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra since 2022 and, in 2024, became Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He has also been Music Director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 2019 and will become its Music Director Laureate from the 2027/28 season. Martín served as Chief Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland (2019–2024), Principal Guest Conductor of the Spanish National Orchestra (2022–2024), and Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Gävle Symphony Orchestra (2013–2022).

In recent seasons he has conducted many of the world’s leading ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Dresden Philharmonic, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, among others. Highlights of recent seasons include Martín’s critically acclaimed conducting debut at the BBC Proms with BBC NOW. He also led the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in an 11-day Beethoven Festival, conducting all nine symphonies, and subsequently led the orchestra on a UK and European tour, beginning at the Edinburgh International Festival and concluding at the BBC Proms. The tour also included appearances at the Santander International Festival, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Südtirol Festival in Toblach, Italy.

The 2026/27 season sees Martín make his conducting debuts with the Minnesota and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestras, returning to conduct the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Dallas Symphony, Strasbourg Philharmonic, Gothenburg Symphony, Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National Bordeaux-Aquitaine, Orquesta de Valencia, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya and Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE).

Before establishing his conducting career, Martín enjoyed a distinguished career as an orchestral flautist. He was Principal Flute of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, English National Opera, Academy of St Martin in the Fields and London Philharmonic Orchestra and Flute Professor and Fellow at the Royal College of Music.
