Winner of First Prize at the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition in 1995, she has since performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras under conductors such as Blomstedt, Muti, Salonen, and Thielemann, among many others. She also conducts from the violin and maintains a close artistic relationship with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
A passionate chamber musician, she founded the Julia Fischer Quartet in 2010, and her discography—released by Pentatone and Decca—has garnered numerous awards and international critical acclaim.
