Soprano Lucía Iglesias has been one of the four artists selected by the Teatro Real to represent Spanish talent at the Spain–USA Business Meeting, organized by the Government of Spain and ICEX, and held in Boston on April 13 and 14, 2026.
Lucía took part in a lyrical recital before an audience of representatives from 240 companies, 40 of them Spanish, all gathered in Boston to strengthen Spain’s presence in strategic sectors such as biotechnology and fintech. The concert was an ICEX initiative aimed at incorporating high-level cultural events that engage with the technological and business sectors. The repertoire included famous arias, duets, and ensembles by Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Bizet, Sorozábal, and Moreno Torroba.
The soprano highlighted the value of this cultural initiative with the following words:
“The presence of the Teatro Real underscored the key role of this institution and of culture in global development. It has been an honor to represent my country and the Teatro Real that has believed in me at an event of such international significance.”
This is the second time the Madrid opera house has chosen Lucía Iglesias for its engagements in the United States. The first occasion was six months ago, in October 2025, when she made her debut in New York with two performances at the annual gala held by the Teatro Real in the city.
