Having already completed seven tours across the country, with audiences and the press welcoming him with great enthusiasm and his concerts attracting 25,000 attendees, García García will return to Japan to embark on his eighth tour between May 29 and June 2026, with a series of solo concerts taking him to twelve cities: Okayama (29 May), Fukuoka (30 May), Nagareyama (6 June), Kashiwazaki (7 June), Taiki (10 June), Sapporo (11 June), Saga (13 June), Okinawa (14 June), Tokyo (17 June), Nara (20 June), Nagano (27 June) and Kanazawa (28 June). The pianist will perform two different programmes during his tour, featuring works by composers such as Chopin, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Ravel and Schubert.
This eighth tour marks the young pianist’s breakthrough in Japan, where he will return in October this year for a further eight concerts—two as a soloist with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and six solo performances—in Osaka, Kawasaki, Niigata, Fukushima, Kumamoto, Saitama, Matsumoto and Aichi.
“Returning to Japan for the eighth time isn’t just another tour for me: it’s a reunion with an audience with whom I share a very deep way of listening to and experiencing music. I’m bringing two much-loved programmes and the same enthusiasm as the first time, deeply grateful for a relationship that has been built up concert by concert,” says the pianist.
Martín García García is the most internationally renowned pianist of his generation, giving annual concerts and touring in over fifteen countries across Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. At the age of 29, he is the only Spaniard to have reached the podium at the International Chopin Competition (third prize in the 18th edition and the Warsaw Philharmonic’s special prize for the best concert performance) and is also the winner of the 2021 Cleveland International Competition.
This season has been particularly notable for the Asturian musician, with concerts in Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, Australia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Poland, the United States and Mexico. Furthermore, in September 2026 he will make his eagerly awaited debut in China.
