Lucía Iglesias continues to expand her international career cementing her position as one of the most promising voices of her generation. On September 27, presented by the Teatro Real, the soprano will arrive in New York for the second time to perform alongside fellow Crescendo artists and four talented musicians from the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artists Development Program in the concert “Rising Stars: Opera’s Next Generation”. The event is part of the season presented by Musica Viva NY, an organization with a 50-year history that has helped launch the careers of artists such as Renée Fleming and Samuel Ramey.
The concert serves as a prelude to the Teatro Real’s fifth official US tour and fosters an unprecedented collaboration between the young artist development and professionalization programs of two of the world’s leading opera institutions: the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Teatro Real in Madrid.
Three days later, on September 30, the Crescendo artists—soprano Lucía Iglesias, mezzo-soprano Yasmin Forastiero, tenor Pablo Puértolas, baritone Enrique Torres, and pianist Carlos Alfonso Ferri—will present a second recital in Miami at the historic Freedom Tower, preceded by a masterclass and meet-and-greet with vocal students from the New World School of Arts at Miami Dade College.

Lucía has personally designed the dress she will wear for her engagements in the United States. The attire evokes the majesty of period costumes, aiming to visually embody the female characters she frequently portrays: young women characterized by elegance, and a striking stage presence.
Following her time in the Big Apple, the soprano will return to Madrid for her eagerly anticipated debut in the Teatro Real’s 2026–2027 season, performing the role of Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), which will run from November 10 to 27 at the Madrid opera house.
