Biography

Sabrina Gárdez is a constantly evolving soprano who has demonstrated her ability to captivate audiences with her exceptional artistry. Born in Havana, she completed her professional vocal studies at the José Iturbi Conservatory in Valencia, where she received the Special Prize upon completing her intermediate vocal studies and the Honorable Mention in Chamber Music.

In 2022, Gárdez was awarded the First Prize and the Amics de l'Òpera de Sabadell Prize at the 5th Josep Palet Singing Competition in Martorell, as well as at the 5th Martin y Soler International Singing Competition. Gárdez is currently in an exciting stage of her career, with a full schedule of upcoming projects.

In 2023, she will participate in the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, where she will perform in Gioachino Rossini's opera Il viaggio a Reims. She will also join the Bottega d'Opera at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo and participate in the opening of the 2023 edition with Donizetti's opera Il diluvio universale, conducted by maestro Riccardo Frizza, as well as in Giovanni Simone Mayr's opera Il piccolo compositore di musica.

In 2024, Sabrina Gárdez will embark on a concert tour of Spain with the Red de Músicas de Juventudes Musicales de España and a tour of Catalonia with the Xarxa de Músiques de Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya.

So far, Gárdez has been invited to participate in the concert series "Les Veus del Monestir" at the Monestir de Pedralbes in Barcelona and in the concert seasons of Casa Elizalde in Barcelona and M'Clàssics in Martorell. She has also performed in iconic venues such as the Círculo Ecuestre in Barcelona and the Reial Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi.

Gárdez's dedication to music is evident, and her constant pursuit of excellence has led her to receive the prestigious Ferrer-Salat Scholarship in 2020. She has studied at the Liceu Conservatory with the guidance of soprano Marta Mathéu, and continues to refine her technique with soprano Dolors Aldea. She has also had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with renowned soprano Nelly Miricioiu and distinguished pianist Astrid Steinschaden, invited by the organization of the Tenor Viñas International Singing Competition and the Ferrer-Salat Foundation.
