Our artists take center stage in the new Gran Teatre del Liceu season

Gran Teatre del Liceu has presented its 2024-2025 season, featuring a strong representation of voices from Ibermúsica Artists.

Francesco Pio Galasso will play Don Álvaro in Verdi's La Forza del Destino from November 10 to 19, 2024, in a production also starring Saioa Hernández, with musical direction by Nicola Luisotti and stage direction by Jean-Claude Auvray.

Meanwhile, mezzo-soprano Teresa Iervolino will participate in two productions. She will assume the role of Suzuki in Puccini's Madama Butterfly with Saioa Hernández between December 10 and 28, 2024, under the musical direction of Paolo Bortolameolli and the production of Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier. Additionally, she will be Cornelia alongside Julie Fuchs and Xavier Sabata in Handel's Giulio Cesare from May 25 to June 7, 2025, with direction by William Christie and staging by Calixto Bieito. This title will be conducted by Lorenzo Passerini and feature set design by Barbara Lluch.

The young soprano Sabrina Gárdez will make her debut at the Barcelona theater as Lisa in Bellini's La Sonnambula from April 16 to May 7, 2025, sharing the stage with Nadine Sierra and Xabier Anduaga.

We will also hear Jan Antem in two productions: as Curio in the aforementioned Giulio Cesare and Action in Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story between July 29 and 31, 2025. In that same production, with musical direction by Dudamel and starring Nadine Sierra and Juan Diego Flórez, we will also enjoy baritone Milan Perišic singing the role of Bernardo.

Additionally, BCN Clàssics will celebrate an extraordinary concert at the Liceu with the London Symphony, Gustavo Dudamel, and Marina Rebeka. It will take place on May 10, 2025, featuring works by Ravel and Richard Strauss.
