Akiko Suwanai performs one of her signature works, Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Violin Concerto in two concerts with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the Finnish Maestro Pietari Inkinen. Akiko’s first encounter with the work occurred in 2013 when she performed it under Salonen’s direction on tour in Japan with Philharmonia Orchestra London. Since then, she performed the concerto on various occasions around the globe both with the composer as well as other prominent conductors and orchestras. Most recently with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra and Jonathan Webb.
