Biography

Martín García García (born in Gijón, 1996), considered as one of the pianists with the greatest international projection, has earned international acclaim with his performances in prestigious venues across Europe, America, and Asia. Esteemed by figures like Vladimir Krainev, Dmitri Alexeev, and Arcadi Volodos, Martín’s career has been marked by significant achievements, including first prize at the 2021 Cleveland International Piano Competition and third place at the 2021 International Chopin Piano Competition, where he also received the Warsaw Philharmonic National Orchestra's special award for the best concerto performance.

A graduate of the Reina Sofía School of Music, where he studied under Professor Galina Eguiazarova, Martín was recognized as the Most Outstanding Student of his chair by Her Majesty Queen Sofía. He later completed a Master’s in Piano at the Mannes School of Music in New York under the tutelage of Jerome Rose. His early piano studies began at age 5 with Natalia Mazoun and Ilyà Goldfarb.

Martín’s recent collaborations have seen him perform with top orchestras, including the Symphoniker Hamburg, Warsaw Philharmonic, Orquesta Nacional de España, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, under the batons of esteemed conductors such as Mikhail Pletnev, Vasily Petrenko, and Andrey Boreyko.

The 2024/2025 season is a significant one for Martín, featuring his sixth tour of Japan, where his concerts draw a total of 25,000 attendees. He will also perform in Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Colombia, and Germany, with appearances at the Rostock, Rheingau Festival, and Cologne. Martín will release a new album in 2025, continuing the success of his earlier recordings, “Chopin and His Master” and “Even-Tide.” Driven by a profound sense of purpose, Martín approaches every performance with a deep commitment to offering something meaningful to his audience.
