Soprano Sabrina Gárdez returns to the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 2026/27 season as Pamira, the title role in the world premiere of Schiava e Regina by Lluïsa Casagemas. She also makes her debut at ABAO Bilbao Opera as Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia and returns to the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro to take part in a new production of Tancredi.
Her concert engagements include Handel’s Messiah in Valladolid with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, as well as a recital with pianist Vanessa García Diepa as part of the Km0 cycle of BCN Clàssics at L’Auditori de Barcelona.
Recent engagements include Mélisande in Pelléas et Mélisande at the A Coruña Opera Season, alongside the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia; Sophie in Werther at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile; and Cora in Atahualpa by Carlo Enrico Pasta at the Teatro Municipal de Lima. She has also made her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu as Lisa in La sonnambula, at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville as Diana and First Priestess in Iphigénie en Tauride, and has performed Musetta in La bohème with Fundació Òpera a Catalunya.
In concert, she has performed Orff’s Carmina Burana with ADDA Simfònica and the Orfeón Donostiarra on a tour that included the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Auditorio de Zaragoza and the ADDA in Alicante. Her recital work has also taken her to various venues and concert series across Spain, with a particular focus on song repertoire and chamber music.
In 2023, she was selected for the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda” of the Rossini Opera Festival, where she performed Madama Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims. That same year, she joined the Bottega Donizetti in Bergamo, taking part in Il diluvio universale under the direction of Riccardo Frizza and in Giovanni Simone Mayr’s Il piccolo compositore di musica.
Born in Havana, she initially studied at the José Iturbi Conservatory in Valencia, before continuing her higher education at the Conservatori Liceu in Barcelona as a scholarship holder of the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation. In 2022, she won First Prize and the Amics de l’Òpera de Sabadell Prize at the Josep Palet de Martorell Singing Competition, as well as the prize for the best performance of a work by a Valencian composer at the “Martín y Soler” International Singing Competition.
