Argentine tenor Santiago Ballerini makes his debut at the Opéra de Marseille as Count Almaviva in Rossini’s celebrated opera The Barber of Seville, which will be performed between 26 December and 4 January 2026.
With this first collaboration at the French opera house, Ballerini further consolidates his presence on Europe’s leading stages, where he is especially renowned for his affinity with the bel canto and Rossini repertoire. He does so with one of his most beloved and critically acclaimed roles.
The production, a co-production between the Opéra national du Rhin and the Opéra Orchestre Rouen Normandie, features stage direction by Pierre-Emmanuel Rosseau, musical direction by Alessandro Cadario, and an international cast led by Éléonore Pancrazi (Rosina), Andreea Soare (Berta), and Santiago Ballerini (Count Almaviva).
