Esther Yoo’s new recording for Deutsche Grammophon, available from February 12th, explores musical thoughts on the theme of ‘love’, together with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Long Yu.
At the heart of the album sits Leonard Bernstein’s Serenade written after Plato’s Symposium, which was her New York Philharmonic debut piece that garnered great response.
Around it short pieces including new arrangement of Mahler’s ‘Adagietto’ conducted by Esther Yoo herself or Vaughan Williams ‘The Lark Ascending’,which carries on the deep and varied conversation on love.
