Martín García García returns to Barcelona and Madrid as soloist with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales
22nd April 2026

García García, the most internationally renowned Spanish pianist of his generation, arrives in Barcelona and Madrid on April 26 and 28 to perform as a soloist with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, interpreting one of the most iconic works of Romanticism: Frédéric Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1.

Martín García García (Gijón, 1996) is one of the leading specialists in the music of the Polish composer, a reputation supported by the Third Prize he won at the prestigious International Chopin Competition, making him the only Spaniard to have reached the podium in this competition. His discography also includes an album entirely dedicated to the composer, titled Chopin and His Master (2022), which was highly acclaimed by specialized critics.

Now, audiences in Barcelona and Madrid will have the chance to hear him live at the Palau de la Música Catalana (BCN Clàssics series) and the Auditorio Nacional de Música (Ibermúsica series), alongside one of the United Kingdom’s most emblematic orchestras, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, under the baton of Spanish conductor Jaime Martín.

In April, Martín is in the midst of a Spanish tour with stops in Tenerife, Zaragoza, Campo de Criptana, and Bilbao, featuring a solo program dedicated to Chopin and Liszt. His journey across Spain will conclude in Barcelona and Madrid, while in May he will embark on a new tour in Japan and return to Mexico and the United States. At the end of 2026, he will make his debut in China.
