Diego Martin-Etxebarria and Pablo Sainz-Villegas met last week in the Czech Republic to offer an authentic Spanish evening with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra in the charming setting of Český Krumlov.
The event took place on Saturday, July 19th, as part of the Krumlov Festival, where the conductor and guitarist delighted the audience with a select repertoire that exalted the Spanish guitar, dance, and Iberian traditions, with works by Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, Joaquín Rodrigo and Francisco Tárrega. Dancer Virginia Delgado joined the stage, completing the evening with the magic of flamenco and Spanish dance.
The participation of Diego Martin-Etxebarria and Pablo Sainz-Villegas in the renowned Czech festival adds to their many international appearances and reaffirms both artists' commitment to sharing Spanish music worldwide, their vocation for bringing symphonic music to new audiences, and their desire to celebrate both popular and academic traditions.
Diego Martin-Etxebarria will soon conduct Jesús Guridi's opera Amaya with the Euskadiko Orkestra at the Quincena Musical in San Sebastian, while Pablo Sainz-Villegas will be performing the Concierto de Aranjuez with the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla at the Real Alcázar in the Andalusian capital.
